How to join the Karate Union of Great Britain

Individuals

Individuals may become members of the Karate Union of Great Britain by joining a KUGB club and purchasing a KUGB licence.

An individual must be a member of a currently affiliated KUGB karate club before applying and this will be verified upon application.

The minimum age for joining and training with the KUGB is 4 years old. This is a guideline only and some clubs may have a different minimum age based on their own criteria. You should always check this with the club instructor (Sensei). Please also refer to our Frequently Asked Questions section for more information.

There is no maximum age limit for joining and training with the KUGB, and indeed we have many members in their 70's and over who continue to train hard on a very regular basis.

For individuals wishing to join the KUGB more information on the benefits of joining and how to apply can be found by clicking here.

Clubs

Clubs are welcome to submit applications to join (affiliate to) the KUGB.

Each application by a club to affiliate to the KUGB is checked and agreed by the KUGB Executive Committee, and acceptance will be conditional on that club agreeing to abide by the KUGB Constitution and Rules.
