Prior to Sensei Enoeda's Memorial Service last year, it was agreed by Mrs Enoeda that she would like a special fund set up to receive donations in memory of her husband and she asked the KUGB to manage this on her behalf. This fund was kept open for a year to allow everyone the opportunity to contribute.

Following discussion with Mrs Enoeda, it was agreed that it would be appropriate to support a charity which treated children with cancer, especially as Sensei was so fond of children.

The KUGB, as a registered Charity, receives many requests for support, and such a request was received in June from the Children with Leukaemia Fund and Mrs Enoeda was delighted to be able to help this charity in her husband?s name.

The charity organises an annual children's party and Mrs Enoeda attended on 15 July at Battersea Park in London to present the cheque. She was accompanied by Charles and Jane Naylor, and had a wonderful day at what is the biggest event of its kind in the world - over 5,000 children attended with many top celebrities to entertain them.

Coincidentally, the campaign to raise funds for this charity is being spearheaded by Sir Michael Caine, who presented Andy Sherry with his winners award at the very first KUGB Championship in 1967 at Alexandra Palace. He had maintained contact with Sensei Enoeda and those who have seen the photographic display depicting Sensei?s life may remember the great picture of them looking happy and relaxed together.

Mrs Enoeda would like to thank all those who supported Sensei's Fund and for everyone's continued kindness and help.

A certificate signed by Mrs Enoeda will be sent to all those who contributed to the fund
